MEDICATIONS POLICY
$1,000,000 Run For A Million Competition, August 17, 2024 Every exhibitor’s horse in this competition will have a blood sample drawn, and urine when possible, by a licensed veterinarian for testing for illegal substances, or legal substances outside approved limited as defined in the rules of the National Reining Horse Association Handbook. THE RUN FOR A MILLION MEDICATION POLICY ADDITION: All forms of tranquilizing agents including Romifidine, or any generic/compounded version thereof, are considered illegal substances.  Any horse, found with illegal substances or legal medications outside the defined limits, will be disqualified. Tests will be submitted by a licensed veterinarian to the NRHA designated independent lab testing facility. Horses who test positive for illegal substances, or legal substances outside the approved limits will be disqualified from competition, resulting in forfeiture of all cash and prize winnings. Disqualified horses/exhibitors will not receive any reimbursements for competition expenses including but not limited to entries, stalls, feed, bedding, hotels and transportation.
$100,000 Added Open Shoot Out & 2025 Million Dollar Competition Qualifier, August 16, 2024 Any horse who scores a 226.5 or higher, from the start of the competition at 8:00AM, will have a blood samples drawn for testing.
