The Qualifier will return to Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, Texas, on May 22, 2027, with $200,000 in added money, double the amount offered in 2026. The top ten riders will earn spots in the 2027 Million Dollar Competition.
New for 2027, an exhibitor must earn a Top 30 (plus ties) placing, at The Qualifier to be eligible for The Shootout. Each Top 30 placing earns one qualified Shootout spot, meaning a rider who places multiple horses in the Top 30 may earn up to three spots. Qualification belongs to the rider rather than the horse, so qualified riders may compete on a different horse at The Shootout.
That makes a strong finish at The Qualifier important well beyond the 10 riders who punch their tickets directly to the Million Dollar Competition in Las Vegas.
About The Run For A Million
The Run For A Million, created by Taylor Sheridan, returns to the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center in Las Vegas August 17-21, 2027. The premier Western performance horse event brings together elite competitors in reining, cutting and reined cow horse, along with additional showcase events, for one of the richest and most anticipated weeks in the industry.
The event is closely connected to Sheridanโs hit series The Last Cowboy, which has helped introduce Western performance horse sports to a broader audience.
In 2026, The Run For A Million reached an even larger national audience when the Million Dollar Competition aired on CBS and Paramount+.
