Non Pro riders with their sights set on The Run For A Million will have a new opportunity to earn their way to Las Vegas in 2027, and there will be $100,000 in added money on the line.
The Run For A Million will introduce a new $100,000-added Non Pro Qualifier on May 19, 2027, at Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, Texas. The event will pay 20 places, with the Top 10 riders advancing directly to the 2027 TRFAM Non Pro Challenge.
There will be no ties accepted for the 10th and final direct-qualifying position.
The riders finishing 11th through 20th will also keep their TRFAM hopes alive, earning spots in the TRFAM Non Pro Semi-Finals held in conjunction with the 6666 NRHA Derby presented by Markel.
The new Non Pro Qualifier adds another pathway into a qualification system that will give riders several opportunities to earn a place in the 2027 Non Pro Challenge.
In addition to the 10 riders advancing directly from Bosque Ranch, Non Pro competitors can qualify for the Semi-Finals by finishing in the Top 5 at designated qualifiers around the country. An additional five riders will earn Semi-Finals berths through the Last Chance Qualifier held during the 6666 NRHA Derby presented by Markel.
At the TRFAM Non Pro Semi-Finals, the Top 25 scores plus ties will advance to The Run For A Million.
Riders who have qualified for the Semi-Finals and are also entered in the Non Pro Derby will have two options for posting their Semi-Finals score. They may compete on their Derby-entered horse during the Non Pro Derby preliminary round, or they may compete in the Non Pro [2] class on June 20.
Riders must designate which class will serve as their Semi-Finals run before the beginning of the Non Pro Derby preliminary round.
Scores from qualified Semi-Finals competitors in both the Non Pro Derby preliminary round and the Non Pro [2] will then be combined, with the Top 25 scores plus ties earning a place in the 2027 TRFAM Non Pro Challenge.
A Big Week at Bosque Ranch
The $100,000-added Non Pro Qualifier will be held in conjunction with The Qualifier, which returns to Bosque Ranch and will be held on May 22 to determine 10 of the riders who will compete for $1 million at The Run For A Million.
